Since finding out I was pregnant I've really been down on my knitting. So much so that I 've taken to crocheting with Red Heart (gasp!) but I've really been struck by the need to be frugal and guilty about spending hundreds of dollars a week on yarn. I feel like a good mother would be spending that money on her child's education, although my thoery is that if we don't save any money for them they have learn that thier parents won't provide for them after high school which is what I want them know because it was the hard lesson that both my hubby, J and I had to learn. Not great parenting but whatever...
Since I've been down on my knitting. I've even killed by blog that I spent so much time building. But I felt so defeated what's this baby doing to my head? Now I'm back to square 1 but it's a clean start.
I've made a decision to propel my knitting forward. I have actually made some resolutions:
1) I will not knit with cheap yarn (no matter how desperate I get).
2) Once my current projects for people are completed, I will NOT knit for anyone other than my husband and myself.
3) I will make more garments that I can wear (i.e. sweaters and cardis).
4) I will not fall prey to Knit Alongs just for the fun of it.
Overall, I just feel so jealous when some knitter shows me the wonder sweater they have made for themselves. And all I've got to show for it is a cheap-o scarf. It ends today!
Since I am on my new knitting regime of no nonsense I have decided to attack Lady E with gusto.
To give you a little perspective, that's my small Border Collie (BC) looking uberproud of his momma's knitting. (yes, I am one of those sad people who think of thier dogs as children but don't pity me, pity the people who allow thier dogs to open mouth lick them (GAG)). Since I am a larger gal, I have decided to add an extra ball of Noro for some extra length.Since I am already near the end here are my last two yarny cakes! Yay! I am so done.
My goal is to finish one ball by this week and attack the 2nd by Saturday.
But if I'm a good knitter I may finish in time for my friend Marta's wedding, wouldn't that be an amazing feat?
